come summer of 2011,

It's only been the first week of class and due to my lack of awareness of attention, I've already missed the first film screening, sadly enough. Hopefully I'll be able to beg Rey to let me watch the two films come class on Monday.

Since I can't get started on the first assignment yet, I searched 'The First Cinema' on Google. This website popped out. Not entirely sure about the credibility of this website but if everything's accurate, did you know Girolamo Cardano presented his first 16th century 'live' cinema using a camera obscura in 1550?

The camera obscura looks like this;

 and it works like this. Can't help but feel a little inferior whilst we're living in the age of technology, they were the geniuses who came up with the earliest theories and inventions!

Oh, and before I forget, the first movie theater in the world is the Edisonia Vitascope Hall, which opened on Monday, October 19th in 1896, in the Ellicott Square Building on Main Street, New York :)
